My approach to therapy is integrative in that I draw from several effective and well-established therapies, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy and Mindfulness-Based Treatments.
I am solution-focused, while creating space for the deeper work which allows for emotional integration and increased self-awareness. I have extensive training and experience in treating anxiety disorders with the most current and evidenced-based protocols. In my work with couples, I focus on building trust and intimacy in the relationship through improved communication, connection and behaviors. COACHING & CONSULTATION
I also offer consultation or coaching services, often by phone or video conferencing. While there are places of overlap between therapy and coaching, such as improving one’s life and meeting goals, coaching tends to be shorter in duration and more solution-focused than traditional psychotherapy. Therapy tends to explore the person’s internal world in-depth, including historical places of injury & pain, while coaching tends to be more present-future oriented.
Here are three examples of how you can work with me:
- An executive needs help navigating difficult personalities at work, so that he or she can lead effectively
- A couple is seeking consultation on specific ways they can cultivate a deeper marital intimacy
- An anxious graduate student is needing help clarifying his or her goals, along with recommendations on how to lower baseline stress levels.
